Multimedia in Physics Education (2000 - 2005)

In the framework of this project and in close relation to the FiPS project we developed digital videos for physics education.

The videos contain not only visualization of phenomena but quantitative data from real measurements. The idea is to give students the task to watch the video and to take the data measured and displayed by the video. Then, the students have to analyze the data. We created some of the videos in two different versions: one with analysis of data and one without any analysis. In the lesson, the teacher has to take care about the implementation in a meaningful learning environment, e. g. presenting the video in class or analyzing the video data as homework by the students.

Moreover, some of the videos, technically edited, have been available from IWF Wissen und Medien GmbH, Göttingen, and are still available from FWU Institut für Film und Bild in Wissenschaft und Unterricht, Munich.

The web site of the project can be found here (English) and here (German).
